The core issue is concentration of control. Today, when you deploy an AI system, different companies often handle different jobs: one builds the model, another hosts infrastructure, a third manages access keys. That separation creates friction, but it also creates what governance experts call "distributed audit points"—places where independent parties can observe whether systems behave as intended.

If one company controls the model, the memory, and the access permissions simultaneously, it becomes much harder for anyone else to verify what actually happened when something goes wrong. If an agent makes an unexpected decision or accesses a system it shouldn't, was that the model's behavior, a memory corruption, or a credential leak? With everything under one provider, distinguishing between these becomes nearly impossible from the outside.

It's not sinister necessarily, but it does concentrate information and power in ways that differ from more distributed architectures.
